Lucas Croon lives and works as a DJ, producer and film-music composer in Düsseldorf. His latest solo releases “Ascona“ on Themes for Great Cities and Lucas Croon EP on Aiwo have
gained a great deal of attention and have been played by underground DJ heroes around the globe. He is a Salon des Amateurs resident and known for his party series “NEWS”, where he
performs together with DJs akin to his tone, such as Tako, Woody 92’, Bufiman, Paula Tape and many more. His name is also recognized for two band projects: BAR (Band am Rhein) and Stabil Elite, whose debut album “Douze Pouze” was rewarded by Musikexpress as the Album of the Month in March 2012. Apart from his band and DJ performances, he is highly admired for his eclectic solo live sets, which are characterized by fusion of liquid synth sounds, cosmic and
tropical dance music with breakbeat tendencies. In his DJ sets he also includes a lot of his latest unreleased sounds, as well as the tracks made in collaboration with other artists.
Over a decade ago he moved to Frankfurt am Main, Germany setting up off-location events to invite artists like Vladimir Ivkovic, Tolouse Low Trax, Alexis Le Tan, Tako, Phuong Dan and others to play Tropic Rhonda and Blind Bodies or the tactile record store nights at Robert Johnson.
Regular sweaty gigs at open-minded Salon des Amateurs in Düsseldorf and Golden Pudel Club in Hamburg were also a very welcome inspiration to his wide musical taste. Philip`s dynamic sets run from proto-house, industrial rhythms, new beat, crawling acid and sludgy techno to pounding oddities, always in search for the shared groove.
Drugstore resident DJ 33.10.3402 has released music on Ron Morelli’s L.I.E.S, Music From Memory’s sister label Second Circle, Lovefingers’ ESP Institute, Kunstkopf and Prins Thomas’ Internasjonal. Ali Güney is a Belgrade-based and Izmir-born DJ who has taken his eclectic selection and love for all dance into a contemporary danger z.
