Boiler Room is returning to Belgrade as part of a month-long series of essential raves worldwide. A return to the grit & glory of our very first BR shows, these functions will run the gamut ––industrial warehouses, off-grid locations, unique club spaces–– & celebrate the most vital artists in our world today. Reaching beyond our usual format, each party will open with a broadcasted BR program & extend long, long after the cameras have been turned off.

Drugstore is commencing a new concert series dedicated to ambient music which will have none other than the mysterious Abul Mogard for its first guest. Throughout the year we will present composers at the forefront of ambient genre.

The retired factory worker is coming back to the very industrial zone where he earned his pension. His use of Farfisa organs, Moog synthesizer, human voices, and digital samplers processed through various kinds of analog and digital equipment, gives a mesmerising result which is only strengthening the whole story around the anonymous producer. Evoking the ambiance of his former workplace, Abul started working with synthesizers at an old age. Since his first release in 2012, including the eponymous debut album, the following „Drifted Heaven“ and further, Abul Mogard has earned a cult status in the contemporary ambient scene.
Abul’s performance will be accompanied by visuals by Marja de Sanctis, visual artist and illustrator based in London, as well as support live acts by Tapan band and Zhe Pechorin.

Stockholm’s Under Bron resident DJ TowLie is all about nasty beats from the streetz. Her mixes, as well as releases, abound in disturbed shouts, pervert side of house and troublesome acid. She releases the likes of Klorexx55 and Mai Nestor’s Facit on her label käfTen, produces music on her own and together with DJ Sling as Empfänger. Last year, käfTen released „Zvijezda Crvena“ by Okovi, a doom anthem in a language us Yugos understand. TowLie really likes watermelons so too bad it’s March.

Luke Slater has been active since the late ’80s under various monikers like Planetary Assault Systems, The 7th Plain, Clementine and L.B. Dub Corp. As Luke Slater he has released four albums, the last one beling “Alright On Top” from 2002. Ostgut-Ton’s sub-label, A-TON, has released Slaters ambient work from the ’90s for its premiere in 2016. Recently he added LSD, a collaboration with Function (who viisted Drugstore earlier this year) and Steve Bicknell to the list of collaborations. Drugstore is honored to host Slater for the first time.

Alexander Kowalski planted the seeds of his career at the very end of the XX century. Not long after he moved to Berlin in the 90s and got in touch with the freshest material hailing from Detroit did he have his first Live performance at Tresor Berlin which lead to his first releases in 1999 as DisX3 and Double X (collaboration with Stassy). He released his first album ‘Echoes’ in 2001. Last year, in 2018, his fifth studio album ‘Cycles’ saw the light of the day. His signature deep, dub, house and techno sounds aswell as usage of vocals is what earned him a status of a cult producer and critic’s favorite.

Florian Stöffelbauer is Heap. The prolific man co-leads the Vienna based record label Neubau, which keeps impressing vinyl enthusiasts since it’s birth in 2015. Artists like Tolouse Low Trax, Karamika, Leo James and many more already joined the roster and participated with forward thinking and brave dance music. As diverse and interesting as his labels output, so is Florians DJing. Deep knowledge of music and many secret gems in his vinyl bag let him guide faithful listeners all over Europe. As this wasn’t enough, he also successfully runs Discus Throwers, a well known online shop for records, stocking only the most exciting and outstanding newest releases, a mirror of Florians own taste. After Heap’s first appearance as producer on ESP Institute together with Mr. Ho followed by a moment of silence around his own work, he now finally returned on Berceuse Heroique with three deadly edits ranging from trance to techno. Peak time music for the dedicated.
